MARYVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - One of the firefighters responding to a deadly home explosion in eastern Tennessee has been hospitalized following a heart attack.

The Knoxville News Sentinel reports Blount County Firefighter Patrick Morehead was at the scene of the explosion when he started having chest pains. Deputy Fire Chief Jerry Phillips said Morehead had to have surgery but is recovering and should be released from the hospital soon.

Two people died in the explosion that leveled a 1,200-square-foot home. Authorities said the windows were found between 300 feet and 400 feet from the house. Phillip said the explosion scattered debris over an area about the size of a football field.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the explosion.
