SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) - Officials say an Ohio police officer is recovering at home after he was struck by a car during a charity motorcycle ride.
Springfield police say the crash happened just before 4 p.m. Saturday. According to a police report, Officer Jeffery Holmes was riding his motorcycle and escorting traffic control for the charity ride when he was struck by a 90-year-old driver attempting to cross an intersection in Springfield.
Holmes was transported to a hospital by helicopter for treatment, but a public information officer says he has since been released.
The crash is still under investigation.
