ATMORE, Ala. (AP) - A man and woman in Alabama have been charged with rape and human trafficking involving a 13-year-old victim.
News outlets report 87-year-old Charles Stacey and 66-year-old Mary Daw of Atmore are charged in the case. Escambia County court documents say Daw arranged for Stacey to have sex with the teenage girl.
Court records say Stacey paid the girl for sex and threatened to harm her if she didn’t cooperate.
Stacey and Daw are being held at the Escambia County jail, each on a $1 million bond. It was not immediately known if either of the defendants had attorneys to represent them.
