NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Authorities in Montgomery County say a 21-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in the stabbing death of her mother in Perkiomen Township.

Limerick Township police responded to a 911 call around 3:20 a.m. Friday from Elena C. House-Hay and found her mother in a second-floor bedroom with a kitchen knife in her chest. Fifty-four-year-old Annette E. House later was pronounced dead.

The Montgomery County Medical Examiner’s office says House died of multiple stab wounds and ruled her death a homicide.

House-Hay is charged with first degree murder, third degree murder, voluntary manslaughter and possessing instruments of crime. She was arraigned and ordered held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. It’s not known if she’s represented by a lawyer.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 31.
