Man pleads guilty in death of co-worker at New Jersey port

ELIZABETH, N.J. (AP) - A man has admitted he was drunk when he struck and killed a co-worker with a top loader on a pier in New Jersey.

Fifty-year-old Victor Belo of North Arlington pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide in the 2015 death of 49-year-old Judy Jones at the APM marine terminal in Elizabeth. Authorities say Belo had several drinks during lunch before he returned to work at the pier.

Prosecutors will recommend Belo serve four years in prison when he’s sentenced in January.
