ATHENS, Ala. (AP) - Police in Alabama say a shooting has left a 27-year-old man dead and they’re now seeking a person of interest.

Athens police Chief Floyd Johnson tells local media that Brenton C. Gatlin was found with a gunshot wound late Tuesday inside an Athens home. Police say it’s not clear whether Gatlin was living at the home.

Gatlin was taken to Athens Limestone Hospital, where he died.

Johnson says a person of interest is being sought, but police aren’t releasing his or her name.

Further details haven’t been released.
