AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - A South Carolina man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for his role in two armed robberies in Georgia.

The Augusta Chronicle reported on Monday that Saul Saylors pleaded guilty in U.S. District court earlier this year. His co-defendant, Robbie Lee Mouzon, went to a jury trial in April and was convicted on all charges.

Saylors testified against Mouzon during his trial, saying Mouzon was the masked man who held up two Augusta jewelry stores on Nov. 7, 2012.

At the time of the Augusta robberies, Saylors and Mouzon were suspected in other robberies in North Augusta, Columbia, Lexington, Irmo and Kershaw County in South Carolina.
