Nationals outfielder Michael A. Taylor will begin a rehabilitation assignment Monday, the 26-year old reporting to the team’s high-A affiliate in Potomac.

Taylor has been out since July 7 with an oblique strain which forced him onto the 10-day disabled list.

Before the injury, Taylor had established himself as Washington’s everyday center fielder after Adam Eaton tore his left ACL. In 72 games this season, Taylor is hitting .278 with 12 home runs and 35 runs batted in.

Taylor is just one of several regulars the Nationals hope to get back as the calendar turns to August. While Eaton is out for the season, left fielder Jayson Werth and shortstop Trea Turner are working their way back to full health in order to be ready for the playoff push.
