FORT LEE, N.J. (AP) - Transit police say they’ve arrested a New Jersey man who owes $27,000 in unpaid tolls and fees.

A spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says Cristhian Coral was stopped around 7 a.m. Wednesday after he failed to pay a toll on the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee.

The 42-year-old Newark man was arrested and charged with theft of service and toll evasion.

A telephone number for Coral could not be located Wednesday. It wasn’t known if he’s retained an attorney.
