BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - The board of trustees at Southeastern Bible College in Alabama has voted to suspend operations effective immediately.

The college said in a statement Thursday that a financial evaluation concluded the school didn’t have sufficient resources to meet its obligations.

President Alexander Granados says the school cannot provide a definitive timeframe for a potential reopening of the college. He says they’re making plans that will allow students to transfer to another school to complete their degrees. Al.com reports (https://bit.ly/2rzxo66) Granados became president of the college in 2014.

The college was chartered in 1935 and started with informal evening classes.
