RIVERVIEW, Mo. (AP) - A St. Louis-area teenager is jailed on $100,000 cash bond after being accused of fatally shooting another 17-year-old boy.

Prosecutors on Sunday charged Cliff Edwards with involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action in connection with the shooting death Saturday afternoon of Edward Hatcher in the village of Riverview.

Police say Edwards told investigators that he pointed a firearm at Hatcher’s head in an apartment and pulled the trigger, not believing the gun would discharge without the magazine inserted.

Online court records don’t show whether Edwards has an attorney to speak on his behalf.
