Chris Paul has been traded to the Houston Rockets, Adrian Wojnarowski reported Wednesday.

The Los Angeles Clippers and the Houston Rockets agreed to a deal after Paul informed Los Angeles he would be signing with the Rockets in free agency.

Rather than letting Paul walk for nothing, he agreed to opt into the final year of his deal and was traded to Houston.

According to Wojnarowski, Paul was traded in exchange for Patrick Beverley, Lou Williams, Sam Dekker and a 2018 first-round pick.

Paul now joins James Harden in Houston, a seemingly strange fit given both players are ball-dominant guards. Still, Wojnarowski reported Paul and Harden were determined to play together and forced the trade to make it happen.
