RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A Virginia high school student’s design has been chosen to appear on shoes.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/2rvUqcf ) reports the design was created by Jordan Keller, a senior at Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School in Richmond. Keller entered a design contest run by Vans, the skateboard-inspired shoe and clothing company. Vans holds an annual contest for high school students to design patterns for the company’s products. This year, the company added a subcontest with the theme technology and design.

Keller won with a design that features a pattern of hexagons along with tools including a 3-D printer, a drawing tablet and a robot arm. Shoes featuring her design became available online Thursday.

Keller won a free pair of the shoes and her school received $5,000 for its art program.
