WEST REHOBOTH, Del. (AP) - Police say a man pushed a 21-year-old woman off her bike and tried to steal her backpack before fleeing in Delaware.

Delaware State Police say the woman was riding her bike near West Rehoboth early Thursday when a man approached her from the right side and pushed her off, causing her to fall into the grass.

Police say the man tried to remove the woman’s backpack, but wasn’t able to get any of her belongings before fleeing. Police say he may have been scared off by a passing vehicle.

The woman was not injured. Police are searching for the suspect and urging anything with information to contact authorities.
