With conference tournaments getting underway this week, March Madness is right around the corner. The best players in college basketball will take center stage and look to not only win a national title, but perhaps get on the radar of NBA teams.

One player who will not be playing in the NCAA Tournament is Washington’s Markelle Fultz. The freshman point guard announced on his Twitter page Friday that he will be declaring for the NBA draft.

Fultz, who ESPN projects as the top overall pick in June’s draft, averaged 23.2 points per game as for the Huskies, which finished 11th in the Pac-12 with a 9-22 record.

Fultz could be the second straight number-one pick to miss the tournament. Ben Simmons was drafted number one by the Philadelphia 76ers after missing the tournament in 2016.
