NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) - Prosecutors say a 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a killing in New Bedford.

Bristol District Attorney Thomas Quinn says the teenager, who lives in New Bedford, was taken into custody without incident in a Fall River apartment building on Thursday.

Quinn says the suspect will face murder and firearms charges when he’s arraigned on Friday in New Bedford District Court.

Police said the victim, 20-year-old Jonas Trinidad, was shot Wednesday morning in the city’s South End neighborhood and died after being taken to a hospital.

No motive has been disclosed for the killing.
