BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - The U.S. Postal Service is refusing to mail a promotional flier for a Billings church.
The flier resembles a sheet of yellow notepad paper and is printed with just a few words that look like they’ve been typed on a typewriter.
The flier reads, “We’re gonna have to kill Him,” a reference not to a mysterious murder plot but to the crucifixion of Jesus.
The Billings Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/2mUN4MN) the Harvest Church created the flier to promote a series of sermons leading up to Easter.
Church officials say the Postal Service refused to mail the flier because of its threatening content. Postal Service officials say the flier failed to include a return address and didn’t meet several other formatting standards.
