SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities have released the identity of a woman who died as a result of a fire at a town house in Scottsdale.

Officials say 80-year-old Darla Johnson was found on the ground floor of the residence and appeared to have tried to escape Sunday’s fire.

She was taken to a hospital in critical condition but was soon pronounced dead.

Her dog also died in the fire.

Investigators say the fire appeared to be accidental.

The cause of the blaze hasn’t yet been determined, but officials say an electrical lamp was found near the fire’s origin.
