BAYONNE, N.J. (AP) - The Bayonne Bridge has reopened after it was closed to traffic because of high winds.

The Port Authority says several bolts fell from scaffolding onto the roadway during powerful wind gusts on Thursday. The bridge was supposed to close for construction at 7 p.m., but the agency decided to keep the span, which links Bayonne with Staten Island, closed until Friday morning instead.

The Goethals Bridge was the alternate route during the shutdown.
