OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An Oklahoma City man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison after pleading guilty to causing his infant daughter’s death.

The Oklahoman (https://bit.ly/2olxH0j ) reports that 23-year-old James Ray Fuston pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and child neglect Wednesday. Fuston was sentenced according to a plea agreement.

Police say 3-week-old Natalie Nicole Fuston suffered injuries consistent with “abusive head trauma” April 7. She died at a hospital April 13.

Fuston told authorities he was throwing the baby in the air and that her head accidentally hit the ceiling on the last throw.

Court documents say the victim had bleeding in her brain and eyes as well as bruising to her head and torso. Fuston said he didn’t seek medical care for his daughter after she was injured.
