AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Avondale police say a 23-year-old man is dead after being shot in the parking lot of a grocery store.

Police say Erick Dominguez died in surgery at a hospital after being transported from a fire station where his brother drove him following the Thursday night shooting.

The Avondale Fire and Medical Department contacted police regarding the wounded man about the same time while officers were at the parking lot in response to a call about shots fired.

Police found spent shell cases at the scene.

According to police, a possible motive for the shooting isn’t immediately known nor whether those involved knew each other, other than the brothers.

Police say they’re looking for two individuals considered “people of interest.”

No descriptions were released.
