SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say the parents of a 3-year-old girl found wandering alone in San Tan Valley in her pajamas aren’t facing any charges.

Pinal County Sheriff’s officials say there was simply a miscommunication about who was looking after the child and no negligence was involved.

A citizen found the girl about 7:30 a.m. Monday and notified the sheriff’s office.

Deputies searched the area but couldn’t locate where the child lived.

They took the child back to the substation and began searching for her parents.

At 10 a.m., the girl’s parents drove up to a deputy in the neighborhood.

The child’s mother says she left her at home and the 3-year-old was being watched by an older teen sibling.

The woman says the child’s father was on his way home from work.
