FORT LEE, N.J. (AP) - Transit police say they’ve arrested a New Jersey woman who owes nearly $7,000 in unpaid tolls and fees.

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police say Annikea Bernard was stopped around 8:40 a.m. Monday after she failed to pay a toll on the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee.

A subsequent check found the 35-year-old Teaneck woman had accumulated 106 E-ZPass electronic toll payment violations and owes $6,845 overall.

Bernard was arrested and charged with theft of service, toll evasion and failure to observe a sign.

A telephone number for Bernard could not be located Monday. It wasn’t known if she has retained an attorney.
