WEBSTER, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts man faces assault charges in connection with the death of his girlfriend.
Joseph Kenadek was arraigned Monday in Dudley District Court on charges of aggravated assault and battery and domestic assault and battery. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. He was ordered held on $200,000 cash bail.
Prosecutors say 43-year-old Brenda Hatheway was found unresponsive in the street Sunday morning near her Webster home where Kenadek also lived.
Hatheway was pronounced dead at the hospital. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause and manner of death.
Authorities say the 51-year-old Kenadek had been found nearby. Prosecutors say the couple was involved in a loud argument that at some point turned physical. They say Hatheway was hit at least once, and died from her injuries.
