CULLMAN, Ala. (AP) - The former chairman of the Cullman County Commission is charged with sexually abusing a child.

Authorities say 74-year-old James Graves of Vinemont is charged with sexual abuse.

The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office says the man is accused of molesting a child on more than one occasion, and the victim came forward after the last incident.

Court records aren’t yet available to show whether Graves has a lawyer to speak on his behalf. He was arrested Wednesday.

The Cullman Times (https://bit.ly/2q5GG9a ) reports Graves elected chairman of the Cullman County Commission in 2008. He lost a re-election bid and again sought re-election but failed in the last election.
