ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - State officials have started an internal investigation after guests and staff at an Albany hotel complained about late-night raucous behavior by a group of prison guards.

The Times Union reports (https://bit.ly/2r7QsF4 ) the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision says it’s investigating the actions of dozens of correction officers who stayed earlier this week at Hilton Garden Inn adjacent to Albany Medical Center.

The Albany Police Department says its officers were called to the hotel three times between 10:45 p.m. Monday and 3:30 a.m. Tuesday after multiple guests complained to the front desk about loud partying by members of the New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association.

The union members were in Albany for a news conference at the State Capitol.

The spokesman for the union says it’s looking into the matter.
