PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Police say the fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old Providence boy over the weekend stemmed from a “longstanding” feud between two families.
Providence police said 18-year-old Natashza Charon faces a manslaughter charge in the death Saturday of Jaheim Carter.
Charon was held on $50,000 bail on the manslaughter charge Monday, but was held for allegedly violating terms of bail in a prior case.
Prosecutors say Charon and her boyfriend were walking on the street when a vehicle with the victim and three others stopped, and during a confrontation Charon stabbed Carter in the back with a knife.
Police say Carter’s family and the family of Charon’s boyfriend are involved in some kind of feud.
Charon did not enter a plea. It’s not clear if she has a lawyer.
