COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) - Authorities in Georgia say an inmate was found dead in the Muscogee County Jail.
News outlets report the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that 42-year-old Undra Williams was found unresponsive in his bunk Saturday. Medical staff attempted to revive him, but the attempts were unsuccessful.
Officials say a coroner arrived on the scene and pronounced him dead. The cause of death wasn’t immediately determined, but officials said they don’t suspect foul play.
Sheriff Donna Tompkins’ executive assistant Dena Bearden says Williams’ family has been notified.
Williams was booked into the jail April 23 and charged multiple offenses including driving with a suspended license and no insurance.
