Dead man found in St. Louis County car wreck had been shot

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Police say a man found dead inside a car after he hit a utility pole had been shot.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/2qoAJ7R ) reports that police found the man early Tuesday in the car’s passenger seat while investigating what they thought was a traffic crash.

St. Louis County Police Officer Benjamin Granda says the man appeared to be in his 20s. They don’t know his name yet.

The death is being classified as a homicide. The St. Louis County Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Bureau is handling the investigation.
