PHILADELPHIA (AP) - An assistant principal at a prestigious suburban Philadelphia school has been placed on paid leave after video circulated online showing him arguing with and cursing at teenage abortion protesters outside the school.

The school district says Zach Ruff confronted the two protesters, who were holding signs with depictions of aborted fetuses, on a sidewalk near the Downingtown STEM Academy on April 21. The video shows an escalating argument as Ruff tells the teen to leave and the teens respond that they are on public property. He can be heard using profanity.

A spokesman for the school district said they were “dismayed” by the video and believed the teens had the right to be on the sidewalk.

Ruff could not be reached for comment.
