PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities are investigating a shooting in northeast Philadelphia that injured a teenager in both hands after he argued with a beer store owner.

Police said the store owner said he argued shortly after 11:30 p.m. Monday with a juvenile who wasn’t allowed in the store, which is in the Summerdale neighborhood. He said the teen left, returned with another youth and began to vandalize the store, and both teens left. Police said the store owner said he followed and fired a shot into the air.

The teenager said the owner pointed a gun at him inside the store, and he and his friend left but the owner chased them into the rear alleyway and fired, striking his hands.

Police said their investigating continues; a handgun was recovered from the scene.
