EL PASO, Texas (AP) - Investigators say five people have been arrested on capital murder charges in the slaying of a former soldier at a West Texas apartment.

El Paso police on Friday night announced arrests in connection with the May 7 fatal stabbing of 23-year-old Tyler Kaden Croke. Police say officers responding to reports of an unknown problem found the victim in a unit and evidence of a fight.

El Paso police, in a statement , didn’t immediately release a possible motive.

Authorities say two suspects were arrested in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Both listed an Army post - Fort Bliss - as their address. One other suspect faces drug possession charges.

An obituary says Croke was from El Paso and Salem, Virginia, and that he was a combat veteran who served in Afghanistan.
