PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) - After months of working together behind the scenes, Blue Mountain Community College and Eastern Oregon University brought their collaboration to the forefront.

The La Grande Observer reported (https://bit.ly/2rbbcQg ) last week that officials from BMCC and EOU finalized a partnership that will allow students to be enrolled in both universities at the same time.

The largest demographic of transfer students to EOU currently comes from BMCC, with around 30 students transferring each semester. The co-enrollment allows classes taken at BMCC to align academically with EOU standards.

Students now will have access to courses and advising on both campuses.

School officials say the co-enrollment agreement between the schools allows students to be more efficient in scheduling their classes at BMCC and will reduce redundancy when students transfer to EOU.
