ALFRED, Maine (AP) - A New York City man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for the shooting deaths of two men inside a Maine apartment.

Fuquan Wilson was sentenced Monday for two counts of manslaughter after a judge rejected his request to withdraw his guilty pleas.

Wilson previously faced murder charges stemming from the drug-related shootings of 42-year-old Russell Lavoie and 37-year-old Jeffrey Lude in an apartment in Biddeford in 2014. Wilson was on the run until March 2016 when he was arrested in New York City.

Wilson’s lawyers attempted to withdraw his guilty pleas because of new information about the case and alleged misconduct by prosecutors.
