KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) - Oregon Gov. Kate Brown has appointed EveLyn Costello to be district attorney for Klamath County.

Costello replaces Rob Patridge, who resigned earlier this year. She will serve until an elected DA is chosen in 2018.

Brown says Costello will bring a “fresh perspective” to the DA’s office, emphasizing her two decades as a defense attorney in the county.

The Klamath Falls Herald and News (https://is.gd/oZyQ3V ) reports that Costello was among two candidates recommended by a local committee to fill the role. The other was a deputy district attorney.
