FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts man has been charged with fatally stabbing his girlfriend.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s office says Scott Rego was charged with murder Tuesday in the death of 36-year-old Kristina Reis.
Authorities say Fall River police responded to a home Monday and found Reis on the front porch, bleeding from an apparent stab wound. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Authorities say Rego was found inside the apartment suffering from a wound to the chest.
Rego was hospitalized in unknown condition.
Authorities say the 26-year-old Rego will be arraigned first in Providence, Rhode Island, as a fugitive from justice and then in Fall River when he’s released from the hospital. It couldn’t be determined Tuesday if he has an attorney.
