10:55 a.m.

Glendale police say an armed robbery suspect is dead after being shot by police following a pursuit.

Police Sgt. Scott Waite says two officers fired at the suspect after he fired a shotgun as police tried to take him into custody about an hour after a convenience store was robbed Tuesday morning.

No officers were injured during the shooting, which Waite says occurred on a street following a pursuit through parts of Glendale, Phoenix and Peoria.

Waite says initial reports indicate police initially used a stun gun to try to subdue the suspect before he fired the shotgun, prompting police to shoot.
