BEAR, Del. (AP) - A New Jersey man has been charged in a warrant with killing another man in a hit and run in Delaware.

Delaware State Police say in a news release that troopers obtained a warrant on Tuesday for 24-year-old Elder Saavedra of Swedesboro, New Jersey. He is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 24-year-old Lester Mateo of Pennsville, New Jersey.

Police say on March 26, Saavedra and Mateo got into a fight in a restaurant in Bear, Delaware. Troopers say the two men left the restaurant, and Saavedra got into a car and ran into Mateo, pinning him against another vehicle in the lot.

Authorities say Saavedra is being held in Pennsylvania on an immigration detainer and is awaiting extradition to Delaware.
