WYNCOTE, Pa. (AP) - Officials say several staff members were injured trying to break up a brawl involving four students at a Philadelphia-area high school.

Cheltenham Township police were called to the fight at Cheltenham High School in Montgomery County during first period on Wednesday.

The school said the students were removed from the building and more adults came to monitor interior and exterior campus areas. Officials said classes, test and after-school activities took place as usual.

Superintendent Wagner Marseille called the fight “a very serious incident” that was “unacceptable,” and consequences for student who fight may include “exclusion from the educational program.”

Marseille said four administrators and four more safety personnel will be at the school for the rest of this week and next week.
