SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) - A Rhode Island university has issued a warning after students contracted mumps.

The University of Rhode Island issued a warning Tuesday explaining that four students at its Kingston campus came down with the mumps. Ellen Reynolds, Director of Health Services, says campus officials and the state Department of Health are monitoring the situation.

Health officials say students should make sure they are immunized.

Reynolds says that Health Services will notify anyone who may have come in contact with the infected students.

The university will continue regular operations.
