MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - A man who killed his girlfriend and dumped her body in western Montana has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.

The Missoulian reports https://goo.gl/B75YBE 31-year-old Emmanuel Gomez was sentenced Thursday for the death of 26-year-old Charlie Ann Wyrick. A jury convicted him in February of deliberate homicide.

Prosecutors say that on Dec. 21, 2015, Gomez and Wyrick got into a fight at his house, where roommates testified they were awakened by yelling before hearing a thump and a scream. They then saw Gomez drive away in his SUV.

Wyrick’s blood was found on the ground, and data from Gomez’s phone showed that he drove to the Pattee Canyon south of Missoula after the fight.

Wyrick, who was stabbed in the chest, was found dead at the bottom of a ravine.
