CORAM, N.Y. (AP) - A Long Island man has been arrested after authorities found what they describe as an “enormous” stash of heroin in his home, a small arsenal of guns and $16,000 in cash.

Police say they also found a large amount of marijuana and the addictive drug fentanyl, with the street value of all the drugs totaling about $83,000.

Newsday (https://nwsdy.li/2oYGqcU ) reports that Suffolk County Police Commissioner Timothy Sini announced Wednesday that police had arrested a 44-year-old man in Coram.

Sini described the suspect as a violent neighborhood drug dealer who previously served six months in prison for sexual abuse.

Officials say the drug dealer’s heroin stash of nearly 350 grams was within reach of young children living in his house. He’ll likely will be arraigned Thursday.
