President Trump signed a $1.1 trillion spending bill Friday to keep the federal government operating through September, the White House said.

Mr. Trump signed the measure at his golf club and residence in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he is spending the weekend, said deputy press secretary Sarah Sanders.

The measure adds $15 billion in additional Pentagon spending in the current fiscal year and $1.5 billion in emergency border security funds, although not specifically for the start of construction on a border wall.

Without the legislation, the government was facing a midnight deadline for shutting down.
