SMYRNA, N.Y. (AP) - Two upstate New York teenagers have been charged after police say one accidentally shot the other.
WKTV-TV in Utica reports (https://bit.ly/2qhT7zC ) that a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were charged with felony first-degree reckless endangerment and misdemeanor second-degree reckless endangerment, respectively.
The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office says the two teens were pointing rifles at each other last week in the town of Smyrna when the 16-year-old accidentally shot the 17-year-old in the shoulder.
The 17-year-old was treated for minor injuries at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton.
The two teens are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
