MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - Pope Francis has honored four people in recognition of their service to the church in the Diocese of Manchester, New Hampshire.

Bishop Peter Libasci says the Pontifical Order of Pope St. Sylvester, which honors Catholic lay people actively involved in the church, has been awarded to Guy and Constance Chapdelaine.

Chapdelaine oversaw the Diocesan Finance Office, and offices of Human Resources, Risk Management and Insurance, Information Technologies, and Real Estate until his retirement last year. Constance Chapdelaine, his wife, taught at Saint Anthony School in Manchester, where she volunteered as a teacher for the parish’s religious education program.

The Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Medal, for long and distinguished service, has been awarded to David Gabert, who has overseen the financial matters of parishes and schools, and Joseph Pepe, president and CEO of Catholic Medical Center.
