TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - A man has been arrested in a fatal shooting outside a Tuscaloosa bar.

AL.com reports (https://bit.ly/2pS2c0V) 26-year-old Markis Russell was charged Sunday after 23-year-old Branden Moss was shot in the early morning. Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit’s Capt. Gary Hood says Moss had assisted a man who was being assaulted by four men after the bar closed and then spoke with one of the men involved after the fight. As they were talking, a man not involved in the fight shot Moss several times from behind. Moss ran about 75 feet (20 meters) before collapsing.

Police interviewed witnesses and reviewed surveillance video. Russell was charged with murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle and being a person forbidden to possess a pistol. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
