OLTON, Texas (AP) - Records show a West Texas city manager has been charged with using municipal land and water and not paying for it.

A Lamb County grand jury Thursday indicted Olton City Manager Marvin Earl Tillman, who was arrested Friday on two counts of theft of property.

A city statement Monday said Tillman would be away for two weeks from his job in Olton, a town of about 2,200 located 45 miles northwest of Lubbock.

The indictment accuses Tillman, since May 2007, of using 72 acres of city property without making lease payments. The second count alleges Tillman, since March 2014, used city water but didn’t pay for it.

No publicly listed number could immediately be located for Tillman, who’s free on $10,000 bond.

A prosecutor didn’t immediately return a message Monday.
