PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Officials at Rhode Island Hospital say they locked down the emergency room when a fight broke out among visitors in the aftermath of a nightclub shooting.
A hospital spokeswoman told WPRI-TV (https://bit.ly/2q1iHWJ ) a large group of people arrived at the hospital in Providence on Sunday shortly after at least three men were shot outside a nightclub. She said some of the visitors started fighting and police escorted about 20 people out. She said it’s unclear if any of them had weapons. The ER was locked down for more than an hour.
Police have not arrested anyone in connection with the fight or the shooting.
The nightclub has been closed since Sunday after the licensing board ordered it temporarily shut down pending a hearing.
