ANADARKO, Okla. (AP) - A former trucker from Arizona was sentenced to 12 years in an Oklahoma prison for killing a prostitute in 2014 and dumping her nude body along Interstate 40.

The Oklahoman (https://bit.ly/2pYpUII ) reports that 40-year-old Juan Manuel Gonzalez Jr. pleaded guilty Monday to first-degree manslaughter and unlawful removal of a dead body. He’ll be on probation for 30 years following his release.

The victim, 24-year-old Veneranda Flores, went missing from Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Dec. 21, 2014. Oklahoma Transportation Department workers found her decomposed remains on April 7, 2015 near Hinton, a town west of Oklahoma City. Flores was identified through DNA in August. Gonzalez was arrested a few days later at his Glendale, Arizona apartment.

Court documents say that Albuquerque police questioned Gonzalez because phone records indicated he and Flores had texted each other the day she disappeared.
