MESA, Ariz. (AP) - The Latest on a shooting involving Mesa police (all times local):

10:10 a.m.

Mesa police say a man shot and wounded by a police officer had earlier threatened to ignite a bomb outside a home and the man was shot when responding officers perceived an imminent threat.

Detective Nik Rasheta says additional details on the circumstances of the shooting early Tuesday morning aren’t available and that the police bomb squad was summoned to examine a device found in front of the home and render it safe.

Rasheta says the man was taken to a hospital and that his injuries aren’t life-threatening.

The man’s identity wasn’t released but Rasheta says there was an order of protection involving the man.

The Mesa Police Department says there’s been an officer-involved shooting and that one suspect has been taken to a hospital.

Police also say in a Twitter post about the Tuesday morning incident that all officers are OK.

No additional information is immediately available, including circumstances of the shooting.

The shooting occurred in a residential area near Southern Avenue and Mesa Drive.
